What's a Boxing Affiliate Program?

An affiliate program is a way I can reward you for recommending the 12 week boxing program to other people. Even if you aren't using it yourself, you can still recommend it (although your credibility is not as good). When you signup for an affiliate account (free), you become a partner of How to Box. You become an important part of the site's growth. If How to Box makes money, so do you.

You see, when you signup, you get access to a special area on How to Box that gives you a unique url or pictures and banners to post on your websites, your facebook page, your myspace page, or wherever you want.

When someone clicks one of those links I put a cookie on their computer (completely good, happens to you everyday when you visit sites). That cookie tells me who sent that person to me and if they buy the 12 week program, that cookie tells me to pay you 40% of the purchase price. And guess what, it's good for 90 days, so even if the person you sent to How to Box takes 89 days to make up their mind, on the 90th day, you are still getting the commission if they finally decide to start the program.

So, as an example, look at what you'd make based on the following:

Send 5 people to How to Box who buy at the special price = 79.90
Send 10 people = 159.80
Send 15 people = 239.70
and so on

What is Second Tier?

If one of those people you referred to the program decides to join this boxing affiliate program as well, I'll give you an additional 10% of any sales they make. In essence, they start to work for you. So, now you're profits could look something like:

5 people you referred = 79.90 + 5 people each of 5 friends referred = 99 = $178.90 -- all for just telling 5 people about the program.

Why Should you Promote The How to Box Program?

For starters, because everyone should learn to box whether it is for the health benefits, for competition, or even for self defence and confidence building. How to Box TV - Free Streaming Boxing, Sports, Movies, and Other Goodies

For those of you that were visiting How to Box last night, you may have been pleasantly surprised to find you could watch the Kelly Pavlik vs Jermaine Taylor fight that was airing on PPV. Best of all, the price was FREE - it didn't cost you a thing. Other than having to put up with commentating in Chinese (which is good I guess for those who speak the language), the quality and connection was excellent. I watched it full screen on my laptop - all 12 rounds of goodness to the unanimous decision in Pavlik's favour.

The undercard bouts were also broadcast, but I didn't manage to get the system setup in time. Sorry about that. Future bouts should go without hiccups.

What is How to Box TV?

How to Box TV is basically cable on your computer. There are a number of channels, mostly sports, that are broadcast 24/7 from around the world. That means Pay per view events such as the Pavlik vs Taylor fight that are only available in North America for a fee are broadcast free in other places like China. In this case, channel CCTV-5 streams their content worldwide and carried the fight. To be honest, there was about a 6-10 minute delay between the live boxing stream and the actual pay per view event. Something I had no problem living with.

These channels are wide and varied. There are boxing channels, MMA-TV with 24/7 mixed martial arts action, HBO movies, Music Videos, and more. Take a few minutes, figure out how to use the system and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Only drawback is that a lot of programs may be in different languages - not such a big deal when you are watching sports, but movies are a different story.

So, How to Box TV is a new feature that I'm hoping you will enjoy.

What do you need to do to watch How to Box TV?

1. First, you need to register an account on How to Box, if you haven't already done so.

1. Much like flash movies at Youtube all you need is to install the Sopcast plugin. I know it works with Internet Explorer - and it is supposed to work with Firefox (I haven't tried it yet). Download it, unzip it, run the setup and that's it. You may get complaints from windows that the program is trying to access things -- this is OKAY. Allow it, so it can connect to the live stream server. I'm telling you, the program is not bad and doesn't cause a million popups to show up on your computer as you browse the net. The only ads you will see are in the player itself.

Alright it's installed, where is the boxing?

You have two options:

1. Go to How to Box TV and a player is going to load in your browser. Once you click the page, be patient, it takes a couple of seconds to show up. On the right are the channel listings and the left is your everday standard media player.

You'll quickly notice there are a lot of channels, most of them in foreign languages. All you have to do is click on one and the channel will buffer and start playing in the player. Again, not all of these channels are boxing channels, some are other sports, movies, music and so on and the list changes from time to time.

2. To find specific boxing events, check the boxing event schedule or the Upcoming Events block on the right side of most pages and click on something you are interested in watching. If you are close enough to the start time, a player will be on that page and the show will start. If you are too early or late, the channel may be off the air. So, ensure you pay attention to the time.

These are live streams and are not on demand videos and there is no PVR capability. You miss the start time, you miss the show. Assuming you've set your timezone correctly in your account settings page, the times you see on the boxing event schedule will correspond to where you live.
