Heavy Bag - Power

In the boxing workout, when I have put Heavy Bag - Power, this is what it means:
  1. Stand in front of the heavy bag and square off.
  2. Get mad, summon all the energy in the world and picture that bag as the most evil, most hated object on the planet.  If you want to give him or her a name....go ahead.
  3. You are going to hit the heavy bag for the duration indicated in the workout and every single punch will be the hardest punch you have ever thrown.
  4. You will not unleash a flurry of punches.  Every punch will deliberately be the hardest punch you have ever thrown.
  5. You will try to hit the heavy bag with as many deliberately powerful punches as you can for the time allotted, but you must be careful to make sure you are throwing quality power punches.
  6. Your target on the heavy bag can vary.  For your initial workouts it is good to deliver body shots repeatedly one after another.  Left hook to the body, Right hook to the body, Left hook to the body, Right hook to the body...continue for the time indicated.
  7. After you get the hang of it, you can practice power combinations.
I currently do not have a video done of this, however I found one over on Rossboxing.com.  Rather than link directly to his video, and stealing his bandwidth, this link takes you to an article discussing a heavy bag workout.  The video is about half way down the page.  When you watch the video, the first half is a speed drill as I describe under Heavy Bag - Speed.  The second half of the video is closer to what I am describing here.  Notice how everytime he punches, he is planted firm and delivers each blow with as much power as possible.  He moves around a bit, don't worry too much about that.  Remain stationary and hit hard.
