How to Do This Exercise

Although the biceps aren't very important in boxing, I believe it's necassary to work every muscle in the body, especially to avoid unbalance in the muscles. Besides, big biceps are intimidating. Stand, holding the bar with your palms facing away from your body. Now curl the bar up to your neck. Avoid arching your back and keep your elbows at your sides at all times. I like to use heavy weights for this excercise, doing 4-8 reps per set.

EZ curls and momentum

I've found through my weightlifting training that I saw more results in my biceps to use the EZ curl bar (the wavey bar) slow and steady so not to get momentum. The EZ curl bar has some options to it (inside grip and outside grip) These options work different parts of the Bicep and you'll be able to see more results in my opinion. Momentum is something you see people using all the time and if you watch them when doing it you will see a lack of effort. Yeah they can curl more but they aren't using their muscles and you will be benefiting yourself more by taking it slow.

I couldn't agree more with

I couldn't agree more with the last comment. When I started lifting I didn't know too much and my technique was not good. I ate alot and got bigger and lifted heavy, but my poor technique did not actually hit the muscles that effectively. Now when I lift I make sure that my technique is good and the results are your muscles get fuller and more solid . The most important thing to keep in mind is that when you do a certain exercise you must make it so it hits the desired muscle as much as it can.

Barbell Curls vs. EZ Bar Curls

I read an article that discussed the benefits of Barbell Curls versus EZ Bar Curls. It said that they were pretty much even, except that Barbell Curls worked more of the long, lower part of the biceps, while EZ Bar Curls used more of the short, upper part. The EZ Curl bar builds more of a rounded, mountainous bicep. Also, I found by testing their experiment, that I could lift more weight with the EZ Curl Bar.
