hand injuries

hi i have been doing boxing for a year and a half and i have just started competing. recently i have been experiencing a strange pain in my left hand when i hit a bag or and opponent. the pain starts in my hand and goes right up my arm. i wrap my hands well and i have noticed floyd mayweather has hand problems and he uses different techniques of preserving his hands and i was just wondering what these are and if anyone could give me some advice thanks
