Tomorrow I start the 12 week training program. In all actuality I started today, ensuring everything was ready for the next 12 weeks. I printed off the schedule and made my little workout booklet. I built a meal plan for the first week using the program How to Box recommends and went to the grocery store to pick up the supplies. I then cooked all of tomorrow's meals and divided them up into containers for each meal (6 meals in total). I have my workout clothes in my backpack and I'm mentally prepared to put myself through 12 weeks of directed exercise and nutrition.

Seems like a lot of work? Not really and now that it is done, I actually feel prepared. I know exactly when and at what times I will be eating and training tomorrow. A little bit of pre-planning goes a long way to success.

I uploaded my before pictures and first progress-report. I was quite surprised to find out that I had 14.837% bodyfat. That's the highest it's ever been and my pictures look like it. I thought I had put on a little fat, but the pictures don't lie and I can see I'm carrying a little extra in spots. Don't like it, and can't wait for it to change. I'm really looking forward to uploading the next progress report in a couple of weeks.

I'm doing this program for two reasons. First, I want to sharpen my boxing skills and improve my conditioning (getting rid of some of the Christmas fat along the way) and second, because I want to see and document the effectiveness of this program.

With any luck, I'll be able to post often and keep myself motivated by laying it all out there. It would suck to start this, and come back a few weeks from now only to see I never followed through.

Quite frankly, I doubt that is going to happen. Happy boxing.

I have always adhered to two principles. The first one is to train hard and get in the best possible physical condition. The second is to forget all about the other fellow until you face him in the ring and the bell sounds for the fight.
