Re: Backyard Boxing

Fighting at the park, huh? That works, I guess.

Hard to make any real praise or criticism. One thing I can definitely say is: DON'T PULL STRAIGHT BACK!!! Every one of the kids that's fighting in that video pulls straight back once punches start coming at them. Either use your legs to move you away from the punches, or duck and get in close. It's nothing to beat yourself up about (no pun intended), it's instinct to pull away from that which threatens you (like jerking your hand away from a burning hot pan). That's one of the hardest parts about boxing (in my opinion) is overcoming the body's natural instinct. Just work on footwork and upper body movement, that was the one thing I saw that was missing. Good luck!

 Take care, dude!

Looks to me like you leave

Looks to me like you leave your face uncovered a lot, after you take your hits bring your hands back to cover your face, the black kid seemed to partially know what he was doing and seemed to take advantage of that. Other than that you look like you aren't doing half bad. Keep it up.

move around

I think you move straight too much move from side to side. this way you can find open spots and take advantage of the opportunities.

It's the boxers who attract the real women, after all, with their raw primeval strength, beautifully toned bodies and just a touch of vulnerability.
