i mean cummon,im doin boxing cuz i fined that karate is OVER-RATED,most of my frens do boxing but i dont only wanna fight them "for example my best frend does kickboxing "SPARRING WITH HIM IS ALWAYS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I jus wanna know if im really at a disadvantage?
lol the more of your body u can utalize as a weapon the better.. lol i mean take a kickboxer hes gonna know everything u do plus be able to use his legs to an advantage....
if u wanna do mma u will have to learn abit more then just boxing
I don't quite understand your question.
Sounds to me that you want to spar someone from a different sport, in which case you will probably lose if you are fighting in their discipline and win if it is with boxing rules. You train the way you want to play, is one of the most important rules. Whats the point of doing muay thai if you want to be a boxer? learning to throw elbows, kicks and knees isn't important. Not only are you learning pointless skills your replacing the footwork of boxing.
Simply put if you want to spar another combat sport with their rules you'll probably get your ass beaten, simply because they know more about it and you have very little experience with it.
the rule we use r simple we go till someone gives up... thas it he can kick me whereva n yes i kno its dangerous but fighting is on a whole (sides i read somewhere that your more likely 2 get a serious injury in basket ball than even in boxing) so i geuss it not the most dangerous thing out there. oh n i noticed u used the word play,im doin this as a self defence kinda since i realized that some ppl at school down right hate me (reasons im not tellin)n a fight is coming (i jus kno it)
N i do kno a lil kickboxing that and my brother does tkd so it not like im totally clueless to kicks (shame on u)
Why didn't you just say that to begin with? I highly doubt these people who hate you will be any good at a combat sport, most of the times street fights aren't fair (out numbered, weapons, etc.). So to be honest any combat sport will help you, to remain composed and defend yourself as thats what you are going to be trained to do. Don't think though that 2 weeks will prepare you because it wont.
Best thing to do in case of a street fight is to not fight unless you actually have to defend yourself, nothing good can come of it. Haven't you seen the news where people die from being hit and knocking their heads on concrete as they fall? Also police will be a lot more harsh on you if you injure someone and they find out you have done boxing/ muay thai or any other combat sport.
Thats all i can say, just don't fight, be the bigger man. But to answer your question MMA/UFC is the closest, 4oz gloves, punches, kicks, knees and grappling are all involved; glorified street fighters basically. Stay smart and you will stay safe.
Boxing is my favorite sport. even though i was in wrestling first and won 4th place in state at oklahoma. next i want to learn brazilian jujitsu. i feel the more tricks one has up his sleave the more prepared he is for self defence. brazilian jujitsu in my opinion works extremely well against a boxer. ive seen several techniques that a bjj fighter does and to me they look like they would work best against a pure boxer.
Listen all you cats sound kinda young so here is the breakdown. This is a pure boxing site so that is what you are going to get here. Learn the basics, the punches, the combos, the footwork, the evasions and try to master them. Then do the same with other disciplines. BJJ and wrestling, for grappling skills. Karate/Tae-Kwon Do for kicks. Kickboxing will put the boxing and kicking together, and MMA training will put them all together. You have to get from stand up to the ground so a few Judo takedowns will do the trick. It will take a while but like I said you cats are young so you got time. And above all enjoy it and learn from your ass beatings to kick ass!!!
