Alright...I'm excited about this match up.

I was not too pleased when I heard that there was a possibility for a Manfredo/Roy Jones fight. Doesn't sound that interesting. Roy Jones doesn't carry much weight in my mind anymore. I think he's washed up. A perfect example of a very skilled fighter losing his edge to age.

Now...Calzaghe, on the other hand, I think is a great fighter. I saw his last one against Bika, and I was very impressed. Despite the criticism he recieved, I thought it was a terrific showcase of his abilities. Not to mention his shutout of Jeff Lacy (one of my favorite boxing moments of the last few years). He's fast with his hands, unorthadox, agile, and very clever.

I don't know who to pick on this one.

Manfredo did great his last couple of fights. KO'd Pemberton beautifully (however, I think old Scott was a little washed-up by the time Peter got to him), and he dominated Joey Spina (however, I think Spina had something of a padded record going into that one). I like Manfredo, I think he's a solid fighter who's really improving under the tutelage of Freddie Roach. He's definitely got power and a good sense of himself in the ring. I just don't know if he's got the experience to handle a guy like Calzaghe...

What do you all think? Manfredo or Calzaghe? Who's got the advantage?

there was only gonna be one winner that night
Hi guys That fight was the first time i had seen Manfredo fight too, i didnt think he was all that bad, hes a solid man but to fight some one like Calzaghe this early was crazy but i do think it was stopped early but if it hadnt been stopped it would only have been stopped later with the same out come.

calzaghe
i think it was to much of a step up in class for manfredo, calzaghe's quality.as for the early stoppage, you cant just stand there taking shots, dont matter how many he blocked or slipped, coz he didnt fire any back most refs would of stopped it.
