I'm 16, and I live here up in Canada in a small town, and I'm trying to learn how to box but there aren't any nearby gyms or boxing programs that I can sign up. The only equipment I have in my basement is a Bowflex, Treadmill, Dumbbells and an Excersise ball. I don't even have gloves or a heavy bag, so I'm trying to make due with shadow-boxing and reading up techniques on boxing. I'm a pretty skinny guy, trying to get back into shape. I use to take Tae Kwondo for a bit, 3 years, and I've been taught boxing moves and stances. But until I get boxing equipment, what kind of boxing excersises can I do with what I've got, and what's a good schedule to go on? (By the way, I've got a lot of time in my week.)

Use what you have
I love boxing because you can use your head and pretty much come up with a solution for any lack of equipment. Lack of instruction is a problem in itself. You have enough equipment to get in excellent shape and if you don't like what you have, you can make what you are missing if you can't afford to go buy it-- double end bag, heavybag and so on. You can even do some "unconventional" exercises with sandbags, sledgehammers, and more. Check the exercise database in the training center -- I'm busy adding all sorts of exercises for all sorts of equipment.

For boxing specific skills, you can practice your footwork and shadowbox as you are already doing. There is a workout database in the training center as well that - while not stocked currently -- will quickly become a repository for exactly what you are asking for. (this goes for anyone -- anyone can submit exercises and workouts -- if you have good ones, please visit the training center and submit them).

In short, look at what you have and make do until you are at a point where you can take it to the next level.

It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up.
