Doesn't Hurt
In short, it doesn't hurt to train with it. In the army, we train like we will fight. The same should go for boxing. That doesn't mean you have to all the time, but you should get used to the way you breathe with a mouthguard in when hitting the heavybag or shadowboxing. You will likely find that you have less oxygen at times.

Now, if you are just doing this for fitness, there really is no benefit to training with the mouthguard in.

Of course, in both instances, if you are sparring, put in the mouthguard or pay the dentist/doctor bill when you have to have your lips sewn up or teeth fixed. You'll be glad you did.

It's the boxers who attract the real women, after all, with their raw primeval strength, beautifully toned bodies and just a touch of vulnerability.
