Gauze Hand Wrap's
On the day of my first amateur fight, I was backstage wrapping my hands with my Everlast Mexican style hand wraps when someone walks up to me and ask "Are you going to fight using those hand wraps?" And I said "Yes I am sir". Then suddenly he and everyone around him busted out laughing. I ask "what's so funny?" He told me something that I'll never forget, he said "in boxing, your hands are weapons and like any weapon, if they break then they are no good."
This bit of advice could have just saved my career and I hope it can do the same for you (the reader).
Luckily for me, this guy knew one of my friends and wrapped my hands for me using gauze and tape. When he was done, I immediately noticed a big difference. My hands felt like bricks because they were wrapped the correct way. When he was wrapping my hands I watched as closely as possible and tried to learn how he did it but I just couldn't get it.
So, does anyone know how to wrap someone's hands using gauze and tape? How should I start? Is it like using the regular Mexican style hand wraps? And if so, how much tape should I use? And where should I wrap the tape? A video demonstration would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
